SAGES (The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons) was founded in 1981 to foster, promote, support and encourage academic, clinical and research achievement in gastrointestinal endoscopic surgery. SAGES currently boasts more than 6,000 general surgeon members from countries all around the world. The SAGES annual meeting is oriented toward minimally invasive surgery and in 2009 had an attendance of more than 2,100 surgeons.
With over 2,000 members, The Canadian Association of General Surgeons is the largest surgical association in Canada and the only national organization representing the interests of General Surgeons. CAGS promotes the training, education, continuing professional development, thoughtful practice and research that are essential to the specialty of general surgery. CAGS hosts the Canadian Surgery Forum annually, which is the largest surgical conference in Canada.
SAGES EAC helps to shape future exhibits. The EAC meets twice annually, once at the SAGES annual meeting and once during the Fall Clinical Congress. Discussions focus on creating and maintaining a dynamic exhibit experience. SAGES leadership attends the meetings and participates in the discussion. If you are interested in serving on SAGES EAC, please contact Shelley Ginsberg at 310-437-0544 ext. 111, email: shelley@sages.org
